Centro Cultural La Moneda and the Banco Central de Chile invite you to explore the exhibition Reflejos de Chile. Un siglo del Banco Central, (Reflections of Chile: A Century of the Central Bank) curated by Juan Manuel Martínez and Pedro Maino. The exhibition commemorates the 100th anniversary of the institution through a vast selection of works from its pictorial and numismatic collection.
Displayed in the main galleries, the exhibition is organized into six thematic chapters, ranging from rural landscapes to urban industrialization and modernization. Works by key artists are featured, including José Gil de Castro, Raymond Monvoisin, Pedro Lira, Celia Castro, Camilo Mori, Ana Cortés, Juan Francisco González, Thomas Somerscales, Rafael Correa, and Pablo Burchard.
The oldest pictorial work dates back to 1820, while the most contemporary object is the commemorative coin for the centenary of the Banco Central. Replicas of gold ingots, historical banknotes, and coins from different periods are displayed, organized into seven key periods of the Central Bank and Chilean history.
