Your Ghosts Are Mine

Centro Cultural La Moneda and Qatar Museums, as part of the international cultural exchange program Years of Culture, invite you to discover Your Ghosts Are Mine: Expanded Cinemas, Amplified Voices, an exhibition curated by Matthieu Orléan that brings together a selection of films and video art installations in an immersive experience exploring memory, community, displacement, and exile.

The exhibition includes a selection of films produced, co-produced, or supported by the Doha Film Institute, alongside video installations from the collections of Mathaf: Arab Museum of Modern Art and the forthcoming Art Mill Museum.

As the exhibition travels to Chile, it establishes a dialogue among stories from the Middle East, North Africa, South Asia, and Latin America, inviting us to discover how seemingly distant experiences can resonate with our own memories, and how the ghosts of others may also reflect our own.

About the Curator

Matthieu Orléan | He is an artistic collaborator at the Cinémathèque française, where he oversees temporary exhibitions. At the Cinémathèque, he has curated ¡Almodóvar Exhibition! (2006), Dennis Hopper et le Nouvel Hollywood (2008), Le Monde enchanté de Jacques Demy (2013), Gus Van Sant Icônes (2016), Vampires (2019), and Top Secret: Wes Anderson (2025).

He has also curated Scrapbooks, dans l’imaginaire des cinéastes (Rencontres de la photographie d’Arles, 2023), Panorama 16 (Le Fresnoy – Studio national des arts contemporains, Tourcoing, 2014), and Your Ghosts Are Mine, produced by Qatar Museums and presented at Palazzo Cavalli-Franchetti in Venice in 2024 and at Mathaf in Doha in 2025.

Since 1998, he has written about film and the visual arts for publications including Cahiers du Cinéma, Trafic, and Numéro, as well as for various books. In 2007, he co-directed Des Indes à la Planète Mars with Christian Merlhiot, which was presented in the Official Competition at FID. In 2011, his book on filmmaker Paul Vecchiali, La Maison cinéma, was published by Éditions de l’Œil.
