Late NightsUrban Photographic Narratives
Late Nights: Urban Photgraphic Narratives featured 200 photographs and texts by seven of the most reputed contemporary Chilean narrators, and was presented at the Centro Cultural Palacio La Moneda with the support of Scotiabank.
Nestor Cantillana, Alfredo Castro, Amparo and Héctor Noguera, Leonor Varela, Fernanda Urrejola, Felipe Braun, Francisco Melo, María Izquierdo, Benjamín Vicuña and the current Minister of Culture, Luciano Cruz-Coke, were some of the actors who portrayed the characters in the photograps by Gabriel Schkolnick.
Some of the well known mass media public figures who participated in this exhibition were politicians Lily Pérez, Carolina Tohá , Ricardo Lagos Weber and Andrés Allamand; singers Beto Cuevas, Pollo Fuentes, Nicole, Javiera Parra, the group Chancho en Piedra and television presenters Sergio Lagos and Tonka Tomicic, among others.
They brought life to solitary individuals, bohemian, even underground characters, giving us a totally different characterization of these public figures, thus allowing the viewer to demystify these iconic and unattainable figures, placing them in a worldly context.
Extracts from narrative and lyrical texts by writers Carla Guelfenbein, Rafael Gumucio, Roberto Merino, Sergio Paz, Sergio Parra, Pablo Simonetti and Alejandra Costamagna contribute to reveal the different worlds that coexist in the city.
